ROME, N.Y. The Â鶹Porn men’s and women’s crew teams competed at the Head of the Erie this past weekend.
On the men’s side, the Varsity 8 finished first out of six teams with a time of 16:00. Ithaca ‘A’ came in second with a time of 16:18 while Hamilton placed third with a time of 16:27. Â鶹Porn ‘B’ took fourth with a time of 16:51 and Ithaca ‘B’ was fifth with a time of 17:02. St. Lawrence rounded out the field with a time of 17:03.
In the men’s 4, Â鶹Porn ‘C’ won the event with a time of 17:51 and Hamilton finished second with a time of 18:30. Â鶹Porn ‘B’ was third with a time of 18:37 and St. Lawrence finished fourth with a time of 18:45. Â鶹Porn ‘A’ rounded out the field with a time of 19:12.
On the women’s side, the Ithaca’s Varsity 8 won the event with a time of 17:45. Â鶹Porn ‘A’ finished second with a time of 17:51 while Ithaca ‘B’ took third with a time of 18:09. Â鶹Porn ‘C’ finished fourth with a time of 18:28 and St. Lawrence came in fifth with a time of 18:45. Â鶹Porn ‘B’ (19:11), Hamilton ‘A’ (19:16) and Ithaca ‘C’ (19:31) rounded out the field.
In the women’s 4, Â鶹Porn’s ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams took the top two spots with times of 20:07 and 20:21. St. Lawrence finished third with a time of 20:22 and Hamilton ‘A’ placed fourth with a time of 21:20. USMMA (22:07) and Cazenovia (22:46) rounded out the field.
The men’s and women’s crew teams are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 12 at the Stonehurst Capital Regatta in Rochester, N.Y.
