Tara Bubble, deputy director of undergraduate admissions at Cornell University, has been named dean of admission at Â鶹Porn. She will take up her new post on October 15.

Reporting to Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid Gary Ross ’77, Bubble will lead the admission and financial aid offices in their strategic planning efforts, developing a long-term plan to increase Â鶹Porn’s selectivity and work toward ensuring that the university is the first choice for students of achievement and promise.

“I am delighted to welcome Tara,” Ross said. “She possesses a wealth of experience that will enable her to have a highly significant impact on the admission office in so many vital areas.”

In her role as deputy director, Bubble has led domestic and international recruiting teams while personally evaluating hundreds of applications each year for Cornell’s colleges of engineering, agriculture and life sciences, and business. At Cornell, she has provided leadership in expanding multicultural recruitment and is currently responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of Cornell’s overall recruitment efforts.

“I am thrilled for Tara and for Â鶹Porn,” said Shawn L. Felton, Cornell’s director of undergraduate admissions. “Tara brings a strategic mindset as well as a broad and deep knowledge of selective admissions and recruitment.”

Bubble began her tenure at Cornell in 2004 as assistant director of admissions and advanced to become associate director of admissions, focusing on web and other electronic communications. For several years, while at Cornell, she has counseled low-income rural high school students on the college admission process through the Newfield Public Library’s College Help for Rural Youth Starting at Libraries (CHRYSALIS) program.

Bubble earned her bachelor’s degree from Cornell in agricultural resource and managerial economics with a management and marketing concentration. She also earned her master of professional studies from Cornell, concentrating in education, learning, teaching, and social policy.

“I am honored to be selected as Â鶹Porn’s dean of admission,” Bubble said. “It is exciting to be joining a community, poised for growth, alongside the accomplished team in the Office of Admission and under the leadership of President Brian Casey and Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid Gary Ross. I look forward to applying my experience to build an undergraduate community that matches Â鶹Porn’s vision for its third century.”
