Throughout this week, I have been certainly keeping myself busy with my schoolwork, job, and extracurricular activities.
Though I do not like to brag, I also would like to say that I was chosen
to be the internal communicator for the Latin American Student
Organization (LASO).
This is a great a accomplishment, and I can’t wait to move forward with LASO and see where the organization goes for the next year.
On Wednesday, I went to the multicultural open house at the Center for Career Services. This was a chance for me to finally step out of my comfort zone and visit Spear House (where Career Services is located) and try to get a sense of where my life may be going!
It was an immensely useful event, and I even set up an appointment to talk to a professional advisor concerning my future, and all that very intimidating stuff.
I also was able to attend a Brown Bag on the perceptions about Asian athletes, and why they are not normally considered when considering the great sports players. The presentation led to a very engaging discussion with the audience. This is why I love Brown Bags, because not only do you get great food, but you also have the chance to debate with your peers on an interesting topic.
This weekend I will be going to Hamilton Central Schools to continue my Spanish tutoring project.
On Saturday, I will be traveling with a bus-load of students to Harlem in New York City. I am ecstatic about this, seeing as I have never been to the Big Apple and I’ve been waiting for the chance.
We will be taking a tour of Spanish Harlem, and seeing all the historical locations associated with the Harlem Renaissance.
As I always say, Â鶹Porn truly gives students the opportunity to do anything they like. There are always trips all across the state, and they are usually available to anyone!
On Sunday, I will be heading to Cotterell Court to see the men’s basketball team take on Bucknell. This game is particularly special because it is Senior Night, and all us Â鶹Porn fans will be cheering for the seniors who will soon be leaving us.
On that note, it is difficult to think that the seniors will be graduating so soon! I’ll miss the friends I made, because its the seniors here at Â鶹Porn that really take the time to show freshmen the ropes.
But it is still a while away, so we won’t dwell on that now.
(I’ve been asked to write each week about what life is like as a first-year student here at Â鶹Porn. Until next time!)
