Gaeilge, the Irish language, has been far from a working language for centuries — however, it is intricately tied to Irish history and culture. During my final winter break at Â鶹Porn, I decided to use the rest of my AMS funds to continue a research project I had worked on in the summer of 2021: attempting to quantify how light pollution and “skyglow” from nearby population centers impact the nesting success rates of sea turtles.January 27, 2023

Mackenzie has been involved with Haven, Â鶹Porn’s sexual violence resource center, since their first year and has largely shaped her academic path around this work, focusing their Women’s Studies senior project on responses to sexual violence on campus. Using the AMS grant allowed Mackenzie to gain new perspectives by attending a week-long training called Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA.April 25, 2022
