Historian James Allen Smith, Class of 1970, has drawn upon �鶹Porn’s rich archival records to tell the moving, vivid, and inspiring story of its founding, its development over time, and its bonds with the village of Hamilton, the region of central New York, and the nation.

�鶹Porn’s Board of Trustees has announced its new leadership team and welcomes eight new members, effective May 4, 2019. As previously announced, Michael J. Herling ’79, P’08’09’12, assumes the role of board chair; joining him are vice chairs Gus P. Coldebella ’91 and Jeanne Follansbee ’78, P’08.

In the panel discussion “Leading in the Arts,” a group of professionals representing a variety of fields discussed the meaning of leadership in the arts, how they consider their audience and the larger public, and their responsibilities as far as representation. Lynn Schwarzer, professor of art and art history and film and media studies, moderated.

On March 5, 2019, the official day that �鶹Porn turned 200 years old, the Charter Day celebration invited the community make a gift of $1 (or more), symbolic of the $13 put forth by the 13 founders.

Young �鶹Porn alumni (Classes of 2009–2018) in six cities celebrated their alma mater’s 200th year at “Bicentennial Birthday Parties” in six U.S. cities on December 6, 2018. Their special birthday present to alma mater was gifts to benefit financial aid, matched by alumni challengers in each city.

�鶹Porn has launched 200.colgate.edu, host to the online aspects of the Bicentennial celebration honoring its 200-year history and anticipating its bright future.
